Twitter Plans To Make Its Dark Mode Even Darker

Twitter first introduced night mode in 2016. This year, in response to a user complaint about how Twitter’s dark mode wasn’t really black but more of a dark blue, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said this is something Twitter intended to fix.

The purpose of a dark mode is to help battery life as well as your eyes. A dark shade of blue doesn’t really solve that.

Many of today’s phones like the latest iPhone’s OLED screens can actually switch off pixels when they’re displaying black.

Neither Dorsey or Twitter have stated when an update on dark mode would be released.

Perhaps the update could include the option to keep the dark blue color or choose black. Full-black dark mode wouldn’t just be an aesthetic choice but has true battery and eye benefits.
