Facebook said today it removed hundreds of pages, groups, and accounts after finding two networks originating from Russia that had no clear links to each other, but “used similar tactics by creating networks of accounts to mislead others about who they were and what they were doing.”
Facebook has focused more on possible interference from Russia after the US 2016 election.
One network was active in a variety of countries while the second one was only active in the Ukraine. The coordinated activities and fake accounts caused suspicion from the social meida platform.
Facebook shared its findings with U.S. law enforcement, U.S. congress and other technology companies in impacted countries.
