YouTube has the power to bring strangers together in ways unconceivable for many 20 years ago. It’s brought the issues people deal with closer to home for those who subscribe and watch.
Many followed the journey of Dan Thomas, a 32-year-old British YouTuber with the channel name PeeWeeToms. Dan shared his terminal cancer diagnosis in an emotional vlog series.
The terminal cancer, as Dan describes it, is “a type of sarcoma and carcinoma called a sarcomatoid carcinoma.” On his page, he shares, “Back in 2015 I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.”
His series had been less about the symptoms of his cancer and more about the life he could live in spite of it. I’ve personally watched countless videos of him this year on his channel and was amazed by how cheery he stayed throughout the journey.
