Opkix, founded in 2016, develops consumer-friendly cameras with a current focus in wearables.
Their product, called the Opkix One, now has a fall 2018 release date. It’s a small rectangular camera with the ability to attach to items like glasses or other gear.
First unveiled in October 2017, the Opkix One is referred to by the company as “the smartest, smallest, and most powerful little camera that was made for Social Media.”
The site notes that with the app, the camera acts as an untethered extension for your smartphone:
“The OPKIX One & Smartphones are the best of buddies. Just think of it as an extension of your phone lens…. untethered and providing the freedom to record with no limitations. Use one of our many mounts & accessories to capture your video, then just sync up to the OPKIX app, personalize it and share!”
The camera has 72 minutes of recording time, with 12 minutes per camera per charge. The egg the two cameras reside inside (similar to the Airpods system) allows for up to 6 charges.
The camera will begin at a retail price of $350. For social media influencers, this could become an invaluable item to budget.
